Cascade nonlinear control of shunt active power filters with average performance analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
The problem of controlling single-phase shunt active power filters is addressed in presence of nonlinear loads. The control objective is twofold: (i) compensation of harmonic and reactive currents absorbed by the nonlinear load, this objective is referred to as power factor correction (PFC); (ii) regulation of the inverter output capacitor voltage. A two-loop cascade control strategy is developed that includes an inner-loop designed, using the Lyapunov design approach, to cope with the compensation issue and an outer-loop designed to regulate the capacitor voltage. The controller performances are formally analysed using system averaging theory. The theoretical results are illustrated by simulation. & 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A Novel Reference Current Calculation Method for Shunt Active Power Filters using a Recursive Algebraic Approach
This paper presents a novel method to calculate the reference source current and the referencecompensating current for shunt active power filters (SAPFs). This method first calculates theamplitude and phase of the fundamental load current from a recursive algebraic approach blockbefore calculating the displacement power factor. Next, the amplitude of the reference mains currentis computed with ...

The ever increase of nonlinear loads in electric distribution networks causes many problems due to the high level of harmonic currents. This paper proposes a new technique for controlling a single phase shunt active power filter based on a selective compensation using the newly developed technique of harmonic control arrays. Simulation results confirm the appropriate selective harmonic compensa...

The main goal of this study is the use of Lyapunov’s stability theory to a three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter (SAPF), since this method has been applied effectively to other areas of converter. The dynamic model of the SAPF is first established, after that, a combination of fuzzy tracking control and Lyapunov function is suggested in order to impose a desired transient waveform on ...
